Percy Ross is the most famous millionaire in the USA because he gave away all his money to other people. Percy was born in 1916 in Michigan. His parents had come to the USA from Latvia and Russia. His family were really poor. Percy showed a talent for business and made a fortune in the fur trade. But soon he made fortune again — this time by manufacturing plastic bags. Then he sold this company for millions of dollars. He started giving away his money in 1977: he gave 50,000$ to 50 Vietnamese refugees. A lot of people wrote and asked for money. He recieved about 40,000 requests every month. Also he started a newspaper column and later a radio show. Anyway, Ross finally succeeded in giving away his money. He said that if he would had twice as much he still would given it all away. He died in 2001 at the age of 85.
